My guess is, the mac did not recognise you pulling out the headphones so with the headphones plugged out, it simply confused itself. Then i just used the keyboard as adjusters again. So while you are in the output tab, pull out your headphones, and bingo.Īt least, that is how my problem was solved.

So keep them plugged in, then go into your system preferences menu under the apple icon.
